Keane back in the fold

Well Robbie Keane is a Spur again. After rumors throughout the month that Benitez was unhappy with Robbie, we now have him back at the Lane. I loved Robbie when he played for us, but was skeptical about him coming back. It does seem like it's old home week at the club.

So the rumor is 15 million pounds for a player that we sold for 20.3 million in August. It's nice that we didn't pay more for him, but whenever Defoe is healthy again, we're going to have the same problem we did two and three years ago, the two can't really play together because they are too similar in playing styles. So while I love Robbie, I'm still curious about how this will go. With Defoe out for awhile apparently it's not a problem that we have to worry about currently.

In other transfer news, there was no movement out for the club. Dos Santos' move to Pompey for 7.5 million pounds fell through during his medical, so he will be staying with the club. The rumors of Huddlestone moving to Fulham were just that, and Jenas went nowhere, though there were rumors of him moving to Inter in a swap deal for Quaresma.

Also, there was no other incoming news on the transfer front, with Stephen Hunt remaining at Reading, and no Nicky Shorey move from Villa. I have to say that I am disappointed that we didn't sign a left-winger, which has been needed for years now. Another left back would not have been bad either. So, I am happy Robbie is back, he can certainly be a talisman, let's hope he helps us stay up.
