Bentley's Days as a Spur are Numbered

The rumors of David Bentley moving on from the club in the summer are reaching fever pitch, with Aston Villa being reported as his landing spot. I feel bad for the lad, he was a great player at Blackburn, but has not shown that form at all here at the club he supported as a boy.

Bentley's highlight this season was clearly that wonder goal he struck against Arsenal just after Harry took over as manager at the club, and has been downhill ever since, reaching it's peak in the last week when he missed the penalty in the Carling Cup Final, and the supporters booing him during introductions against Boro on Wednesday night.

As much as I would like to say that he can change things around and become a Spurs hero over time, I think that he needs a change at this point. This has been a nightmare for him, and his confidence looks to be absolutely at a low point by now. The supporters seemed to have turned on him, and once that happens, the player should start packing his bags.

Harry doesn't think he can hack it at this point, and would probably let him go for around 8 million pounds, and with the way that Lennon is playing there's little chance that Bentley is going to get an extended run in the team that might be able to restore his confidence.
