Huddlestone Player Swap Deal for Spurs?

Tom Huddlestone has expressed his frustration at Spurs as of late, he has been out of the team, with Harry preferring Zokora and Palacios in the holding role, and Modric and Jenas in the creative role in the center of midfield. Huddlestone cannot play on either wing, and did not look comfortable in defense in the UEFA Cup tie last month.

Fulham were said to be interested in Tom during the January window, and are apparently still interested in the England U-21 international. Tom would be a good replacement in the middle of the pitch for Fulham, he and Danny Murphy could link up well. I like Tom, but I don't see him having a future at the club, with Jenas, Modric, Zokora and Palacios ahead of him seemingly in the pecking order, he needs to move on to become the best player he can be.

A couple of days ago I was making idle speculation about Clint Dempsey of Fulham, because of his versatility. He can play on the right wing of course, but can also play on the left wing, in the center of midfield as the maestro, or No. 10 type player, or as a withdrawn striker. I have watched his career being an American and seeing him play for the national side, and he is creative and quick even on the left side, and has been playing well for Fulham.

So here's my proposal, Huddlestone for Dempsey, with some cash, perhaps a million pounds going to one of the clubs. I am not sure what Spurs would value Tom at, but I think 6 million pounds would pry Dempsey away from Fulham, so it could be a pretty even swap, and we could possibly have an answer on the left side, or at least someone to split time with Jamie O'Hara who has been very good down that flank at times. I think this would be a good option, instead of the 15 million pounds we're prepared to pay for Stuart Downing at Boro now, I just don't think he's worth that type of money. What do you think should happen to Huddlestone?
